Ethical Labor Practices

As a woman-owned business, we are committed to supporting other women through ethical employment practices. We want to foster sewing as a skilled path to financial autonomy in our community, so every piece we make is handmade from start to finish here in Colorado.

The artisans who sew our garments are paid more than 50% of the product cost, rather than the 5-15% accepted by the fast fashion industry. Unlike most “collective” handmade shops which rely on an exploitative consignment model, our workers receive fair compensation for each garment they sew- regardless of whether it sells. Our artisans create in their owns space, on their own schedule. We provide paid training and bonuses, and plan to add more benefits as our company grows.

We believe that the path to producing high quality products requires enabling the well-being of those who make our business function. Moving away from the traditional mass manufacturing model helps us achieve fair, safe, and healthy working conditions for all our workers.
